The Earl Shaffer Foundation is currently conducting a series of eBay auctions to make available items which were owned by Earl V. Shaffer at the time of his death. Some were used by him while others were part of his personal collection which was acquired by the Earl Shaffer Foundation Inc., to be disposed of with all proceeds to be distributed by the non-profit 501(c)3 corporation to Earl's favorite charities and projects. All items will be accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the Earl Shaffer Foundation attesting to the fact that the items belonged to Earl. All items are offered in "as-is" condition.

Each auction will run for 7 days, beginning at approximately 9 PM EDT on the first day listed. The auctions can be found by searching eBay on the name "Earl Shaffer". Here is the schedule for the current round of auctions, along with DESCRIPTIONS & ILLUSTRATIONS of each item.

Almost nothing has ever been published about Earl's 1965 southbound hike, which made him the first person ever to have thruhiked the trail in both directions. In celebration of the 40th anniversary of that hike, the Foundation is posting entries from the journal in which Earl recorded notes of that journey. Have a look at www.trailjournals.com/earlshaffer.
